Adding Porn Star References To Your Posts Gets People To Read

So, I've heard.

TripJax had some questions, I had answers laying around.

1. What is the biggest mistake people make at a NL table?
Not playing against me would be bad mistake. But getting married to Top Pair (kicker be damned is a close second).

2. What is the biggest mistake people make at a Limit table?
Playing Limit in the first place? But I do like the differences in the game, and I know my biggest leak is going “its only one bet” (that quote is found under “passive” while describing poker players), but I have been better about raising more, calling less while seeking the perfectly made McGriddle.

3. Why do you play poker?
Why does Tera Reid get drunk and go club hopping to flash her boobs? Why is water wet? Why can’t the fuckin Twins score more then two runs for their ace pitcher who throws a beautiful game on the road (sorry that was more of a rant)? Why won’t Lindsay Lohan jump naked on a trampoline for me? Why is bacon so damn good?

I gamble, I LOVE numbers, I’m somewhat sociable, and I’ve always enjoyed card games no matter the variation (euchre, pinochle, cribbage, 6-card golf…).

4. If you weren't playing poker, what would you be doing?
Honestly? I’d probably still be in a deep depression and more then likely divorced. This blog and poker gave me an outlet for my competitive and social spirit. And for that… I owe (and I’m paying for it because I still can’t win a poker race to save my tournament life).

5. What is your favorite poker book and why?
I’m digging The Psychology of Poker right now, its been making me re-think the way I’ve played for the past six months (too tight-passive). I’m a “mixed” game fanboi, so Ray-Zee’s Split game book is usually close by.

6. Who is your favorite poker player and why?
Jennifer Harman. For pure personality and the balls she displays at the table. Awesome. I even overlook the fact that she's a woman half the time.

7. Which poker player do you dislike the most and why?
Any WPT fanboi who memorized a hand ranking chart and bitches when his big pre-flop hand get snapped off after limping in (fancy play syndrome). I’ll bitch of course but 9 times out of 10, I’ll put my money when while “ahead” and forego the fancy play.

8. Do your coworkers know about your blog?
A couple do, and I’ll get some bad beat stories in the office because of it. I like it though, its fun to chat about my favorite hobby while at the office.

9. What is the most you have won in a cash game or MTT (both live and online)?
$450 in a $100 buy-in PLO8 table, I did win a MTT two years ago at Pacific for the best ROI but it was a $5 tourney. Live I’ve never been a huge winner, but I have final tabled/cashed in over half the tourneys I’ve entered (a whopping six out of 12, yeah HUGE background in live tourneys).

10. What is the most you have lost in a cash game or in one day total (both live and online)?
I’ve lost $350 and $250 in one hand. (Top Full House vs. Quads both times PLO8 can hurt that way). Those hands still enter my mind unfortunately when I “take shots”. For a daily lost, I've been down over $600 before recouping most of it.

11. Who was your first poker blog read?
The United Poker Forum under Ray Cooke’s direction had a poster who would nicely lay out her comings and goings while playing poker tournaments.

Her name is Felicia Lee. Al was the second one (and was part of the first blogger meet along with Halverson and Chad-a-rama), no idea how that happened, I guess I followed the SoCo and Krispy Kreme trail.

12. What satisfies you more, your aces holding up for a big pot or a bluff working for a big pot?
The bluff. I’m a known rock (and for good reasons) but I’ll mix it up with air if I smell a jackhammer or bottom pair sitting out there. Taking it down while not sitting back to wait for cards is refreshing to my slab of granite "game".

13. Why do you blog?
I haven’t got the slightest clue. I hated writing in school. I butcher this language to the point that the Pulitzer prize committee wants to give me an anti-award. And I’m a boring suburban dad who’s highlight of the day is his son not crapping his Bob the Builder underoos while potty training.

14. Do you read blogs from an RSS reader like bloglines or do you visit each blog?
I visit (and yes I’m a comment whore) for each site that I read. Things like RSS readers scare the techo-idiot that I am.

15. Would you rather play poker for a living than do what you currently do for a living?
Honestly, I’d rather deal and play. There’s so much I’d like to pick up about the game behind the box. But I enjoy the company I work for too much to just up and leave for life in a cardroom.

16. Do you wear a tin foil hat on occasion?
No, but I wear a tin foil cup that’s been failing me lately.

17. If you had to pin it down to one specific trait, what does a great poker player have (or do) that separates them from an average player?
Reactivity to the cards, the other players, and the nature of the current game all at once. The ability to raise in a tight-weak game with air, and know to lay down trips vs. Stoney McRock when he re-raises. Sure hand reading is a good trait to have, but people reading will net you a bracelet or a decent income playing poker.

18. Is Drizz the coolest person on the planet for naming his baby Vegas?
I’ll pass on this question since I know the guy personally and get to see his dork side come out on a minute-to-minute basis. Plus he dresses only slightly better then your average McDonald's drive thru cashier jockey

19. What is your primary poker goal and are you close to accomplishing it?
I wanted to hit $10K by the end of the year and play in the WSOP. But, my sub-standard play left a gaping hole in my bankroll the size of Tera Patrick’s hoo-haw after a gang bang. The Bad Beat Jackpot was a nice BR booster but doesn’t change the fact that I needed to work on playing. This month is showing some results of that change.

20. What is your primary online site and why?
I play at Full Tilt (bonus code Drizz99) SHILL SHILL SHILL for the soft tournaments and repetitive nut kicking that the bloggers who work there enjoy giving me in the cash games. PokerStars has the best customer service and great game selection. For pure bonus whoring, you can’t go wrong with the Crypto network’s monthly re-loads, fairly easy cash if building your bankroll is your objective.

21. What site do you dislike and why?
I hate Noble/Titan’s software. It annoys me to no end, but their bonuses and soft games keep me coming back every once in a while.
Absolute with their huge (almost) daily reloads and new “VIP” system only slight cover up their site’s ass-backward poor software. I cringe each time I hear that fingernails on chalkboard sound you get when its your turn.

State-of-the-loser address:

Poker is still turning slowly for the better, a final table bubble at a 180-person SnG (33 vs. ATo lost the only race I took, never had AA, KK, QQ, JJ for over two hours, drove it like I stole it the tourney with blind steals), half of a stack in a $100 NLHE cash game while playing for PokerStar's Five Billion Hand promo, and a six from the money in a PLO8 MTT at Full Tilt (three outers make me cry).

We'll shall see if this month's upturn nets me a Vegas trip for the WPBT event... and some poke-her at HOOTER'S!!!

Thanks for dropping by, now please advert your eyes to other blogs today, I have a headache and need some pelvic rest.
